We are looking for a Nursing Assistant with Nursing
Administration Department at St. Mary Medical Center.
Location: Apple Valley, CA
Schedule: Full-time 72 Biweekly Hour
Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift
Provides assistance with direct patient care under the supervision
of a registered nurse.
- Reports any observed changes in patient's condition, behavior,
and vital signs to a registered nurse in a timely manner.
- Assists in bed baths, patient hygiene and bed changing.
- Answers patient call light, beepers and responds appropriately
- Passes dietary trays and assists patients with meals as
- Performs/documents routine treatments and procedures such as
but not limited to intake and output, weights, vital signs, sitz
baths, enemas, range of motion exercises, incentive spirometry, and
- Assists in the admitting, transfer and discharge process of
- Answers telephone/intercom, and directs or transfers calls to
appropriate individuals and/or departments.
- Maintains patient room cleanliness/organization and stocks
equipment in patient's room.
- Assists with maintenance, stocking and/or cleaning of supplies
and equipment as assigned.
- Successfully completes annual Unit Based Competency
- Prepares and sets up age-appropriate equipment and
- Able to differentiate between normal and abnormal vital signs
for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
- Assesses need for additional safety measures for the pediatric,
adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
- Participates in 75% of department meetings.
- Assist in orientation of new staff.
Education: H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent educ/experience
License and Certification: Current BLS for Healthcare Provider
Preferred Position Requirements:
Experience: 1 year Acute care experience.
License and Certification: Current California Department of Human
Services Nursing Assistant Certification.
