Description
Senior Physical Therapist
Evaluates, plans, directs and administers medically prescribed
physical therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and
prevent disability following disease or injury, or loss of body
part. Assists patient to reach his/her maximum performance and
assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits
of his/her capabilities. The staff Physical Therapist also assumes
responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients
being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be assigned to
orient staff and students and to assume the duties and
responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that
individual. Performs administrative duties and participates in
department Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety and
Education programs.
Physical Therapists providing services to CCS eligible clients are
licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of California,
as per the California Business and Professions Code 5.7, Physical
Therapy Practice Act, article 3, Section 2630 et seq. and have a
minimum of one year with infants, children, and/or adolescent
patients. Therapist will participate in client case conferences,
discharge planning activities and coordination with a CCS case
manager for referral to a CCS paneled provider or CCS MTU for the
patient who may continue to require physical therapy services after
hospital discharge. Services provided by a Physical Therapy
Assistant shall be supervised by a PT who meets the above
criteria.
Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training- Graduate of the American Physical Therapy
Association training program.
Master's Degree or Physical Therapy.
D.P.T. Or equivalent educ/experience
Coursework/Training-Environmental Orientation within 30 days of
hire.
Required upon hire: California Physical Therapist License
Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart
Association
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facility, outpatient,
and/or sub-acute care setting.
